My cabinet and woodworking shop is in the scenic Finger Lakes area of New York. I have studied traditional woodworking skills for the past 25 years and enjoy the mechanics and art of fine craftsmanship. My engineering education has supported the practical aspects of the craft, and my appreciation of form and aesthetics, yield functional, durable, attractive pieces.

While a competent traditionalist favoring hand tools, I do see a place for power tools. Initial designs are worked out with pencil and paper. Depending on the project, I may create a design in CAD, either to present a more realistic rendering to a client, or to create the code needed for the CNC router. Most often, the joinery and finishing is completed using traditional tools.

Most of my lumber is sustainably harvested from our family farm in Pennsylvania, and I saw it for best appearance and log utilization on our bandmill. I prefer to use locally sourced materials, but understand that some projects will require special materials. Whatever materials are needed, I will work with the client to develop the most environmentally-friendly solution.

I accept commissions for furniture, cabinetry, and finishings.  That is just about anything functional and/or decorative for your home, vacation home, or office.  I also have some limited run finishings that are available in my Etsy shop.
